Tudung bawal or voile scarf is very popular in Malaysia. There are several types of voile fabric use to make tudung bawal or voile scarf with various designs from simple embroidery to meticulous handwork embroidery and also fixed with some glistening rhinestones.
Bawal No.1 dari Jepun:
Bawal No.1 dari Jepun:
Some people call it bawal no. 1, some call it bawal jepun, bawal asli or bawal kelantan. It is actually referring to the same voile material from Japan or Japanese voile. It might not be 100% exactly the same since there are several factories in Japan producing the same kind of 2 by 2 full voile fabric. There are millions of possible colours right ? And you need to match your voile scarf with your clothing. Each factory have their own set of colours.. so as long as the voile is from Japan, it is the no. 1 voile. They all produce fine quality voile.
Bawal No.2 dari Korea:
Bawal no. 2 refers to Korean made voile. It is rather 'thicker' than bawal no. 1 or Japan grade voile... and normally preferable by those who wears bigger size scarf. Korean voile is cheaper than Japanese voile.
Bawal Kilang dari China:
Bawal Kilang dari China:
Bawal kilang baru refers to China made voile of quite good grade. They try to produce something like the Japanese voile but cheaper in price. There are also low grade/quality China voile and readymade China voile scarf (computerised machine) in the market.
